FFL Transfer Guide
Federal law requires all firearms to be shipped to a licensed dealer. Follow this guide to ensure a smooth, legal transfer of your purchase.
How the Process Works
Facilitating an FFL transfer is a standard 3-step procedure:
- Purchase: Complete your order at Bastion Ballistics.
- Choose Dealer: Select a local FFL dealer during checkout or email us their details.
- Verification: We verify their license and ship your firearm directly to their place of business.
Finding a Local Dealer
Any gun shop, pawn shop, or licensed sporting goods store can act as your FFL. We recommend searching “FFL near me” or using a directory like FFLScope to find a convenient location.
Submitting FFL Documentation
To expedite your order, please have your chosen dealer email a signed, valid copy of their license to contact@bastionballistics.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Under the Gun Control Act of 1968, all modern firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL).
Once we have the FFL documentation, we ship within 1-3 business days. After it arrives at your dealer, please allow them 24 hours to log the firearm into their books before pickup.
You will need a valid government-issued photo ID. Ensure your address on your ID matches your current residence. You will then fill out the ATF Form 4473 for the background check.
